Marquita Buchanan

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & TECHNOLOGY

OVERVIEW

Behind every successful organization is someone making sure the numbers add up, the systems work, and the decisions being made are supported by sound information. At David Protective Services, Marquita Buchanan is that person.

FINANCE & PRECISION

As Director of Finance & Technology, Marquita plays a critical role in managing the financial and technological foundation of DPS. From billing and invoicing to payroll support, budgeting, contract analysis, financial accountability, and technology, she helps ensure that the organization remains organized, informed, and positioned to operate effectively.

CAREER BUILT FROM THE FIELD

Throughout his career, Bo has progressed through virtually every level of security operations—from working in the
field to supervising officers, managing operations, overseeing personnel, and ultimately leading his own security
company. He has held Texas security management responsibilities for more than a decade and has supervised and
overseen the work of more than 500 security professionals throughout his career

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Bo’s professional experience has included security operations associated with organizations and properties such as
Cushman & Wakefield, TIG Real Estate, the Mexican Consulate, North Texas Food Bank, Texas Credit Union,
ResCare, Danone/Wave, Mazzei/Daltile, Lipman Produce, and 24/7 Inc. call centers, among others. His experience
spans commercial real estate, high-rise properties, corporate facilities, call centers, industrial operations, distribution
facilities, nonprofit organizations, residential communities, and diplomatic facilities

THE DPS DIFFERENCE

Bo founded DPS to create more than another security guard company. He wanted to build a company where
leadership remains involved, officers are held accountable, clients receive meaningful communication, and security
services are treated as a professional responsibility rather than simply a staffing assignment. That philosophy is
reflected in DPS’s three principles: Relational. Reliable. Responsive.

TRAINING, TECHNOLOGY & ACCOUNTABILITY

Bo’s approach emphasizes appropriate officer selection, site-specific expectations, effective post orders, ongoing
supervision, professional conduct, detailed reporting, incident documentation, and accountability. DPS also utilizes
technology and operational reporting systems to provide greater visibility into security operations, including patrol
verification, GPS/location-based accountability, photographs, daily activity reporting, and incident documentation.

EDUCATION & SERVICE

Bo has continued his professional and academic development, including studies in Criminal Justice. His leadership
philosophy is rooted in integrity, accountability, and service, with the belief that leadership is not simply about
authority—it is about accepting responsibility for the people and responsibilities entrusted to you.

CLOSING

Bo believes security professionals should understand that their role is bigger than standing at a post. They represent the client, the security company, and often the first impression a resident, employee, customer, or visitor has of a property. His commitment remains simple: Security should work for the client—not the other way around

TRAINING & OFFICER DEVELOPMENT

Eugene has supervised, managed, trained, and developed hundreds of security professionals, with more than 200–300 officers trained and developed under his leadership. His experience includes managing security personnel, overseeing daily operations, addressing personnel and client concerns, implementing site expectations, supporting account management, and helping security teams perform effectively in demanding environments.

LARGE-SCALE OPERATIONS

Eugene has been entrusted with the management of large-scale and national security accounts, giving him experience working within structured corporate environments where consistency, accountability, communication, and operational execution are essential.

THE HANDS-ON LEADER

One of Eugene’s greatest strengths is his hands-on approach to operations. He understands that effective security management cannot always be done from behind a desk. Sometimes leadership means being in the field, seeing the operation firsthand, talking with officers, identifying problems before they become larger issues, and working directly with clients to understand what is happening at their property.

SECURITY WITH A BROADER PERSPECTIVE

In addition to his extensive physical security experience, Eugene has developed knowledge in cybersecurity, giving him an expanded perspective on the changing nature of security. His exposure to both physical security operations and cybersecurity contributes to DPS’s broader understanding of how security continues to evolve.

EDUCATION & SERVICE

Eugene holds a degree in Criminal Justice. His education, combined with more than 15 years of hands-on security experience, provides him with both an academic foundation and real-world perspective necessary to lead security operations effectively.

CLOSING

While executive leadership establishes the direction of the organization, Eugene helps ensure that direction is carried into the field. He is the hands-on leader behind the operation—helping ensure that what DPS promises its clients is what DPS delivers.

PEOPLE & POLICY

Yasmin understands that policies and procedures are necessary to protect the organization, but she also understands that effective human resources is ultimately about people. She helps employees understand expectations, know where to turn for assistance, and receive fair and respectful treatment throughout their relationship with an organization.

COMPLIANCE & ORGANIZATIONAL STANDARDS

Her role at DPS includes helping maintain and implement company policies, supporting personnel processes, assisting with employee concerns, and helping ensure that the organization operates in accordance with applicable standards and requirements. Her attention to detail and understanding of organizational policy help provide structure behind the people who represent DPS in the field.

EDUCATION & BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Yasmin’s educational background includes degrees in Finance and Business Management, as well as education in Child Care Management. Her financial education provides an understanding of business operations and financial responsibility, while her business management background contributes to her understanding of organizational structure and leadership.

A HEART FOR PEOPLE

One of Yasmin’s greatest strengths is her genuine care for people. She brings a servant-minded approach to her work and understands that employees are not simply numbers on a roster. They are individuals with families, responsibilities, goals, challenges, and lives outside of their uniforms

SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE UNIFORM

Yasmin understands the unique challenges of recruiting, onboarding, training, retaining, and supporting security personnel. Her work helps establish the structure necessary for DPS personnel to succeed while helping leadership maintain accountability throughout the organization.

CLOSING

People are at the heart of our company—and taking care of our people is part of taking care of our clients.

THE THREE R'S IN ACTION

Jasmine is one of the people who helps make DPS’s commitment to being Relational, Reliable, and Responsive part of the company’s daily operation. Relational means maintaining relationships. Reliable means following through and maintaining organization. Responsive means answering the phone, returning the message, following up with the client, addressing the concern, and making sure people know that someone is paying attention

THE CHECK AND BALANCE

Jasmine serves as an important check and balance within the organization. She has the ability to step back, identify what may be missing, and ask the questions that need to be asked. If something needs to be scheduled, followed up on, communicated, or addressed, she helps make sure it happens.

OFFICE MANAGEMENT WITH PURPOSE

Jasmine’s responsibilities extend well beyond traditional office administration. She is deeply involved in scheduling, appointments, communications, client follow-up, staff coordination, administrative organization, and personnel support. Her strength is her ability to move between details and the bigger picture while keeping the organization moving

DEVELOPING PEOPLE, NOT JUST MANAGING THEM

Jasmine understands that accountability and compassion can exist together. When an officer makes a mistake, her instinct is not simply to criticize the mistake. She looks for an opportunity to correct it, communicate the expectation, and help the individual understand how to do better.

EDUCATION & VALUES

Jasmine holds a degree in Business Management. As a devoted wife, mother, and woman of faith, her values are reflected in the way she approaches responsibility, relationships, and service. Her Christian faith influences the way she views people, responsibility, integrity, and service, while her work remains centered on professionalism, compassion, honesty, and accountability.

CLOSING

Jasmine is the heartbeat behind the operation, the check and balance within the organization, and one of the driving forces that continues to move DPS forward.

THE NUMBERS HAVE TO MAKE SENSE

Marquita has a sharp eye for detail. She oversees and supports billing, invoicing, payroll-related matters, budgeting, account reconciliation, contract analysis, and financial tracking. She is the person who looks at a number and asks: Where did it come from? Does it add up? Does it make sense? What does it mean for the company? And what needs to happen next?

BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

Marquita holds degrees in Business Finance and Criminal Justice, giving her a unique combination of financial knowledge and understanding of the security industry. Her professional experience includes working with organizations employing hundreds of employees, giving her firsthand knowledge of the financial and administrative demands of larger organizations.

THE TECHNOLOGY MIND

Marquita also serves as one of the company’s key resources for technology, systems, and problem-solving. She has a natural ability to evaluate technology, understand how systems work, identify problems, and help put solutions into perspective. Her focus is on how technology can work better for the company, employees, and clients

THE ANSWER PERSON

Bo’s approach emphasizes appropriate officer selection, site-specific expectations, effective post orders, ongoing
supervision, professional conduct, detailed reporting, incident documentation, and accountability. DPS also utilizes
technology and operational reporting systems to provide greater visibility into security operations, including patrol
verification, GPS/location-based accountability, photographs, daily activity reporting, and incident documentation.

SUPPORTING THE BUSINESS FROM WITHIN

Invoices have to be accurate. Payroll has to be addressed. Budgets have to be monitored. Contracts have to make financial sense. Technology has to function. Information has to be organized. Decisions have to be made with an understanding of their financial and operational impact. Marquita helps provide that internal structure.

PEOPLE & SERVICE

Although finance and technology require precision, Marquita’s approach is rooted in people. She has a genuine heart
for service and enjoys helping others find solutions that work for them. Her goal is not simply to find the most
complicated answer, but to find the right answer and the solution that works.

CLOSING

She brings precision to the numbers, perspective to the decisions, innovation to the systems, and service to the
people. She helps make sure the pieces fit, the numbers add up, the systems work, and the organization keeps
moving forward.
